Bruno Yiu

Bruno qualified as a solicitor in Hong Kong in 2001 and in England in 2002. He has extensive experience in general commercial and commercial litigation work, with an emphasis on corporate dispute, employment, insolvency, contractual disputes, shareholder disputes, personal injury and fatal accident claims.

He regularly advises and assists small and medium size enterprises on various legal issues in their daily operations, including advising on employment issues, personal injury, and general commercial and corporate issues.

Major recent work includes:
  • Acting for both liquidators and creditors in various contentious winding-up and bankruptcy proceedings and asset recovery matters;
  • Advising client in the application for the appointment of provisional liquidators of a company to protect the dissipation of funds and assets;
  • Acting for both individual plaintiffs and defendant corporations in personal injury claims;
  • Advising on various corporate and personal debt recovery matters, including conducting oral-examination and applying for prohibition order, charging order, and order for sale etc.;
  • Advising client on issues relating to shareholders’ disputes and their remedies, including applying for injunction against a director of a company in illegally transferring his business partner’s shares;
  • Advising on the sale and purchase of business enterprises; and
  • Conducting due diligence and advising a major HK-based pharmaceutical company on its employment practice and corporate affairs in preparation of its listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
